Please use Generic8052 ID for board option in “platformio.ini” (Project Configuration File):

You can override default Generic 8052 settings per build environment using
board_*** option, where *** is a JSON object path from
board manifest Generic8052.json. For example,
board_build.mcu, board_build.f_cpu, etc.

Debugging
Debugging currently does not support Generic 8052 board.
